St. James Preschool offers several different main classrooms as well as additional educational opportunities.
We review our annual enrollment to determine the most appropriate make up of classes based on the children’s developmental and social needs. Our atmosphere provides individual attention, as our ratio of teacher to children is much lower that a traditional school.
3 Year Old Program
For children who are 3 years of age by September 1st of the school year and are potty trained we offer a 2-day or 3-day program. Classes are offered Tuesday and Thursday for the two day class and Monday, Wednesday, Friday for the three day class. In this class there will be a great deal of emphasis on body awareness, sensory development, fine and gross motor skills, language development, and many other readiness skills. The main purpose of the curriculum will be to provide as many opportunities as possible for the children to experience and learn about themselves and their world.
4-Day Pre-Kindergarten Owls & Stars Program
Accepts children turning 4 years of age by September 1st of the current school year. This class meets Monday through Thursday from 9:15-2:15 pm. The focus of this class is to prepare the children for kindergarten.
5-Day Pre-Kindergarten Explorers Program
Accepts children turning 4 years of age by September 1st of the current school year. This class meets Monday through Friday from 9:00-2:00 pm. The focus of this class is to prepare the children for kindergarten.
